This is the second report consisting of my experiences in Japan during second two months of my stay and study aboard. Although these two months were purposed for resting, my work schedule and the constant concerns with processes of my home university have left me just as drained as during the semester. I will state that this is not a problem that must be fixed. That said I will retell my experiences or things I found interesting.

My summer vacation did not begin until I finished the practicum for Professor Stephan's class. After that I worked and dealt with just catching up on what I had not been able to accomplish during the transition from America to Japan. Most of it was cleaning. Having three jobs makes things difficult especially when the days are not in succession. Therefore there is always the feeling of not having enough time. I occasionally get the time to watch TV after work but that usually pushes into my sleep time. Of the beginning of the summer vacation my favorite part is probably the firework show in Mito. Everything was so lively and although it was a little hot there was a refreshing feel to it all.

I did get the opportunity to go to Sendai for a couple of hours before rushing back. It was quite a different experience for sure. It has a different feel from other cities I had been to like Tokyo or Mito. I do understand that the size of the cities I have been to varies greatly in size but for me there is an overall feel to a city that you can perceive apart from your desire or not to go. I enjoyed the going to the Date Masamune monument and its surrounding attractions. I went to Sendai knowing it is famous for Gyutan and after tasting it I have concluded that though it is good, I definitely prefer other ways of cooking beef tongue. After sightseeing for a couple of hours I returned to Omika to continue work the next day.

My experiences in Japan continue to amaze me. This experience continues to shape me into a better individual, maybe not a more complacent individual but an individual who can be confronted with a situation, can plan according and can take the best decision considering health (both physical and mental) and circumstance. I hope the last few months I have in Japan can be very productive and can be enjoyed to the fullest.
