タイからの留学生、「Pimphan」さんの紹介です。
昨年度留学生として本校にきていたNikkiに続き、アジアの架け橋プロジェクトでタイから「Pimphan」がやってきました。
なぜ「アジアの架け橋プロジェクト」を利用して日本へ来ようと思いましたか？
もっと小さい時から、多くの国々に関心がありました。私はそれぞれの国の文化の違いが非常にすごいと思いました。その中でも、日本は私が一番好きな国です。日本文化はタイにおいても芸術や食べ物、アニメといったようなものに影響を与えています。1度は日本で生活してみたいと考えていました。そのため私は以前は考えることもできなかった、このような機会を与えてくれた「アジアの架け橋プロジェクト」にいつも感謝の気持ちでいっぱいです。
Why did you decide to come to Japan using "Asia Kakehashi Project"?
I have been interested in many countries since I was young. I think the difference between each culture is so amazing. Especially, Japan is the country I like most. Japanese culture has some influences in Thailand such as some art, food and anime. I think that I want to live in Japan once. Therefore, I always feel thankful to the Asia Kakehashi Project that gave me such a big opportunity that I hadn’t expected before.
日本でどんなことが楽しいですか？
まず最初に、私のホストファミリーはとても親切です。私を温かく迎え入れてくれ、面倒をみてくれています。私はホストファミリーとの生活を楽しんでいます。一緒にたくさんのことをしてきました。たとえば、七夕の日です。私は初めて七夕祭りを経験しました。学校初日はとても興奮しましたが、同時にナーバスでもありました。私はたくさんの人に会うことがきでましたし、タイの学校にはないおものがたくさんありました。
How do you have fun in Japan?
Firstly, my host family is very kind. They gave me a warm welcome and take good care of me. I enjoy living with them. We did a lot of activities together. For example, on Tanabata day, I celebrated this festival for the first time and it was a lot of fun. Also, I was very excited and nervous on the first day of school. I met a lots of people and there are lots of things that schools in Thailand don’t have.
あなたの好きなことはなんですか？
私のお気に入りは景色です。空港に降り立った時から今に至るまで、ずっと景色に魅了されています。私のホストファミリーは海の近くに住んでいて、散歩へ行くことも大好きです。このあたりの天気はとても良いため、私はとても楽しんでいます。また別のお気に入りに食べ物があります。私が食べたものはすべてとても美味しかったですし、まだ試していないたくさんの食べ物もあるので挑戦していきたいです。
What is your favorite?
My favorite thing is the scenery. The scenery has been so fascinating, from when I got off the airport until now. My host family lives near the sea and I love going for a walk. I am so happy because the weather is very good here. One of my other favorite things is food. Every dish I ate was super delicious, and there are many dishes I have never tried before.
タイと日本との間で何か違いを感じていますか？
日本とタイは同じようなライフスタイルをしています。しかし、私が考える中で最も大きな違いは「食べ方」です。たとえば、日本人はすべてのご飯でお箸を使いますし、今まで見たことのない多くの具材を使っています。また別の違いとして、交通手段があります。タイでは電車を利用して学校へ行くことはありません。なので、今回が初めての経験です。日本の電車はとても快適です。
Do you feel anything differences between Thailand and Japan?
Japan and Thailand have similar life style. But the most striking difference in my opinion is the way to eat. For example, Japanese people use chopsticks for every meal, and there are many ingredients I have never seen before. Another difference is transportation. In Thailand I don’t go to school by train, so this is the first time. Japanese trains are very comfortable.
日本にいる間にどんなことに挑戦したいですか？
もちろん私の挑戦は言葉の壁を乗り越えることです。周りの人と話したいのに、単語が出てこないことがあります。私は日本語も英語も流暢ではないので、友人と話すのはとても大変です。英語や簡単な日本語で話しかけてくれることにとても感謝しています。みんなと話すことができるように、勉強を頑張り、日本語のスキルを上達させていきます！
What challenges do you expect while you stay in Japan?
Of course my challenge is to break the language barrier. Sometimes I want to speak with other people but I can’t seem to find the words. I’m not fluent in Japanese or English, so right now it is very hard to talk with friends. I’m so grateful when someone tries to speak to me in English or easy Japanese. I will try my best to study and improve my skills so that I can talk with you!
日本の生徒、先生、ホストファミリーにメッセージをどうぞ。
私は日本にいることが本当に嬉しいです。夢が叶ったように感じています。私を助けてくれ、親切にしてくれているホストファミリーには感謝を伝えたいです。たった一度も家で寂しく思ったことはありません。先生や生徒のみなさんには、私の新しい学校生活の中で、アドバイスをしてくれたり、助けてくれたりすることに感謝しています。時々シャイになったり、名前を覚えることができなかったりすることを申し訳なく思っています。常に私はみなさん方の「おもてなし」に感謝しています。8か月は短いので、できる限り多くのことを学び、生産的な時間を過ごしていきます。今、私は多くのことに適用しなくてはいけません。もし間違ったことをしていたら教えてください。一緒に楽しんで、たくさんの思い出を作っていきましょう。

Message for Japanese teachers, students and Host family!!
I am so happy being in Japan. I feel like my dream is coming true. I want to thank my host family for everything they help and for being kind to me. I never feel lonely at home, Thanks to my teachers and my friends for advising and helping me in my new school life. Sorry if I’m sometimes shy or can’t remember you, but I’m willing to get to know you all. I always feel thankful for every kind of hospitality. Eight months are short, so I will learn new things as much as I can and spend time productively. Now I have to adjust a lot. If I do something wrong please tell me. Let’s have fun and make a lot of good memories together. Nice to meet you all!
