Each year the Department of Contemporary English sponsors a preliminary speech and recitation contest for all students of Ibaraki Christian University. Anyone who wishes can participate in the speech division, the recitation division, or the dramatic reading division. Winners in each division receive certificates and prizes. First and Second place winners in the speech division go on to represent the school in the IC Presidentfs Cup Invitational Speech Contest. A maximum of 2 speakers from various universities come to the IC campus and compete for the President's Cup. | ||
